Accenture Announces New Leadership Appointments for Singapore and Southeast Asia

SINGAPORE; August 12, 2020 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) today announced senior executive appointments as the company grows its presence in Singapore and around Southeast Asia. The new appointments further underscore Accenture’s commitment to support the industry and enterprise transformation efforts in the region.

Effective 1st September 2020, the changes to the executive leadership team will include the following:

Teo Lay Lim has been named chairman for Accenture in Singapore. This newly created role is a clear recognition of the importance of Singapore to the global Accenture organisation. Lay Lim was previously market unit lead for Southeast Asia and country managing director for Accenture in Singapore. In her new role, Lay Lim will focus on strategy and policy issues which are top of mind for private and public sector companies. She will continue to serve in various institutional roles in Singapore, including the APEC Business Advisory Council, Future Economy Council, Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence and on boards like the Institute for HR professionals and Singapore Accountancy Commission – aligning her primary focus with Singapore and client priorities on Responsible Business, Environmental Social Governance and the Future of Work. Lay Lim will also steward the development of Accenture’s next generation of leaders in Singapore.

Ng Wee Wei has been named country managing director for Accenture in Singapore, succeeding Lay Lim. Wee Wei will have primary responsibility for Accenture’s business in Singapore, including advancing strategic initiatives and ensuring the company’s growth in this important market. She will continue to serve as Accenture’s Public Service industry lead for Growth Markets and Citizen Services lead for Asia, Africa and Middle East. Wee Wei most recently led Accenture’s Health and Public Services group for Southeast Asia in the last six years.

Divyesh Vithlani has been appointed as market unit lead for Accenture in Southeast Asia, succeeding Lay Lim. In his new role, Divyesh will be responsible for the company’s growth in this fast-growing region as well as working with clients to solve their business challenges. Divyesh has over 25 years of experience in the Banking and Financial Markets across Europe and Asia Pacific, and most recently led Accenture’s Financial Services group across Southeast Asia.

“Southeast Asia is a key growth market for Accenture with immense growth potential. Lay Lim, Divyesh and Wee Wei are very capable leaders, and I have no doubt that they will continue to power Accenture’s impact in the region. Their new roles will enhance our capabilities and create value for our clients and employees to capitalise on the opportunities of the future,” said Gianfranco Casati, chief executive officer of Accenture’s Growth Markets.
